TerraDesigns

A website that feels like walking into the shop.

Clear, unfussy sites for cafes, clinics, trades, and neighborhood businesses. Not a pitch deck. A place regulars can send their friends.

Ferntree Gully, Victoria · from $1,200 AUD · replies within two business days

Quiet layout. Real words. Easy to update.

Local by default

Built for people nearby who already half-know you.

Copy that sounds like you

No “synergy.” Hours, offerings, and a clear next step.

A human after launch

I do not disappear the week the site goes live.

Selected work

Sample studies in the kind of work I take on.

Five live demonstration sites so you can judge taste, structure, and copy. They are fictional concepts, not client businesses or claims of delivered results.

Bakery & cafe · sample

Harbor & Hearth

Neighborhood bakery. The brief was not “look fancy.” It was “stop people DMing for the sourdough hours.” Warm cream palette, photo-led menu, catering form that goes to the owner’s inbox.

Design goal: Designed to point an existing Saturday crowd towards one clear menu and a simple catering enquiry.

Allied health clinic · sample

Northside Practice

Small clinic with three practitioners. Soft sage and lots of air. Practitioner pages, FAQs in plain language, and a booking path that matches how the front desk already works.

Design goal: Intended to help new patients choose the right clinician without Monday-morning phone tag.

Landscaping & gardens · sample

Field & Fern

Two-person landscaping team. Before-and-after grid, a simple “what we plant / what we don’t” section, and an enquiry form that asks for a photo of the yard. Earthy, not rustic-for-the-sake-of-it.

Design goal: Designed to collect useful quote details, including a suburb and yard photos, from the first enquiry.

Barbershop · sample

Copper & Comb

Two-chair shop on a strip. Price list like the wall, hours that tell the truth, and a booking note instead of a 12-step app. Charcoal, copper, and type that sits still.

Design goal: Intended to make walk-in guidance and Friday bookings clear on one dark, readable board.

Pet grooming & day care · sample

Marlow House

A premium dog grooming and small-group day care concept. Editorial layouts, candid care notes, a cobalt-and-citrus palette, and a booking preview that asks the useful questions without pretending to confirm a place.

Design goal: Designed to separate grooming from small-group day care and make a first-visit request feel calm and informed.

Care & growth

After launch I stay on for updates, seasonal offers, and the small changes that keep a site feeling looked-after.

  • Content and photo updates
  • Hosting guidance
  • A real human when something breaks

Process

Four steps. No mystery fog.

  1. 01

    Walk through the business

A short call or a visit. I listen for how regulars describe you, what you are tired of repeating, and what a good week actually looks like.

  2. 02

A simple plan on one page

Sitemap, key messages, and a starting price you can say yes or no to. No 40-page decks. You always know what we are making together.

  3. 03

    Design in the open

You see pages early, while they are still easy to change. Warm type, real photos where we have them, and copy that sounds like you — not like a template.

  4. 04

    Launch, then look after it

We go live when the contact path works. I show you how to update the easy bits, and I stay reachable for the rest.

Starting price

Most first sites start at $1,200 AUD.

That covers a tight starter site: the pages you need, original layout, and a contact path that reaches you. If the business needs booking, more pages, or a bigger photo set, I say so before we begin — not after.

About

A small independent studio with a local focus.

TerraDesigns makes websites for small businesses that are already good at the thing they do. The gap is usually not “we need to look like a tech company.” It is “people cannot tell what we offer, when we are open, or how to book.”

We keep the work human: one conversation, a clear plan, pages you can actually maintain. If we are not the right fit, we will say so.

TerraDesigns is based in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, works across Melbourne, Victoria, and is available for remote projects. Enquiries receive a response within two business days.

Questions

Straight answers before we start.

Where do you work?
TerraDesigns is based in Ferntree Gully and works with businesses across Melbourne. Remote projects are welcome too, especially when you already have photos and a clear offer.
Are the case studies real clients?
Not yet. Harbor & Hearth, Northside Practice, Field & Fern, Copper & Comb, and Marlow House are fictional demonstration sites so you can judge the design, structure, and copy honestly.
What do you need from me to start?
A few sentences about the business, who walks in the door, and what you wish the internet would stop getting wrong. Photos help. A logo is optional.
Will I be able to update the site myself?
Yes, for the easy bits — hours, seasonal notes, a new photo. I stay reachable for the rest, or we can set a small monthly care plan.
